About Carl
Carl is University Professor at Syracuse and a fellow at the Johns Hopkins Institute of Applied Economics, Global Health and the Study of Business Enterprise. He served on the Hopkins faculty for 16 years before starting his first company evaluating revenue bond risk.  He has been CEO of health insurance and Re-Insurance companies and was president a global philanthropy focused on entrepreneurship and economic growth.  He chaired the last federal committee measuring innovation and was a member of the NAS standing committee on Government, Industry and University innovation.  He holds five honorary degrees, the George Eastman Medal, is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Philadelphia Society and the Council on Foreign Relations.  His last book is Burn the Business Plan
